Mills Albert Wellington Lions side named for midweek Otago clash

After a win against Southland, the Mills Albert Wellington Lions are five-from-five as they storm into Round 6.

Wellington Lions Head Coach Alando Soakai has named his side to take on Otago in their midweek matchup this Wednesday.

The focus for the team is continuing the momentum of our campaign.

“Storm week is one of the most exciting weeks of our season,” said Soakai, “It’s a great opportunity to give players a run, boys who have worked tirelessly all season in our environment, and those who we have developed in our team.”

Five players look to earn their potential debut on Wednesday, including three in the starting lineup.

Harry Press and Brad Crichton will both run out on debut, starting in the front row alongside Yota Kamimori. Debutant, Ben Tuiomanufili, runs out alongside Dominic Ropeti and Sione Halalio at loose forward.

After an impressive showing off the bench in the last two games, Nui Muriwai starts at halfback, with Callum Harkin once again starting at first-five.

Last week’s debutant, Tom Maiava, earns a spot on the wing in the starting lineup, with Matt Proctor moving back to the midfield.

The impact group hosts a mixture of wealth and youth, with Matolu Petaia and Jeremiah Avei-Collins also set to earn potential debuts.
